Obituary For

Judie Nordhues

08/30/1945 - 09/22/2017

Judie B. Nordhues passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Judie was born August 30, 1945 in Norfolk, NE to Herman and Jeanne (Powell) Bausch. She graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1963. She married James "Jim" Nordhues, her high school sweetheart, on August 20, 1966 in Norfolk, NE. Judie and Jim eventually made Bartlesville their home in 1975. Judie was loved by all and involved in many different social circles including a daily morning coffee group and several weekly card groups. Her greatest love was her family. Whether it was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and musical  performances, or spending the evening at the lake with the family, her first priority was always ensuring everyone else’s happiness. Judie’s other joy was traveling. She  enjoyed vacationing in many different places but her favorites were always Arizona, Florida, and Germany. Judie is survived by her husband, James Nordhues; three children: daughter, Elaine Nordhues of Edmond, sons, Barry Nordhues and wife, Amy, of Bartlesville, and Ross Nordhues and wife, Brianna, of Oklahoma City. She was blessed with three grandchildren: Emily, Evan and Ethan Nordhues. She is also survived by her sister, Patti (Bausch) Tavener, and husband Terry, and close family friend, Donielle Johnson of Edmond. Judie was preceded in death by her parents. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28th in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel, with a reception to follow. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church with Father John O'Neil officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: St. John Catholic School, 816 S. Keeler, Bartlesville, OK 74003.

I will miss you so very much my friend. Thank you for the laughs, the sarcasm and the stimulation to think from another perspective. The obituary in the paper referred to you as "home maker". From you I learned just how important that is by knowing your children. See you on the other side. XO

Dear sweet Judie, you were there for us when we lost our Hanah. I still have The Christmas cactus you gave me then. You reminded me how it would bloom each year and give me Hope during my most toughest times. It still blooms just like you said. I will take some of it and share it with Jim in honor of you sweet neighbor. Godspeed darlin’. Kym next door
