Obituary For

Roy Quattlebaum

03/08/1958 - 05/01/2018

Roy Gene Quattlebaum, 60 years old, joined his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. He valiantly fought the cancer with his two sisters by his side. Roy Gene was born March 8, 1958 to William Leon and Odessa (Dowling) Quattlebaum in Bartlesville, OK. He was the youngest of three children. He was raised and educated in Bartlesville graduating from Sooner High School in 1976. After graduating high school, Roy joined the army and later receiving his honorable discharge. After the service, he returned home and enrolled in a welding class at Tri County Tech. Roy went on to become a top notch welder in the United States. He worked for World Wide Welding working in nuclear plants. He assisted in rebuilding the oil plants in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. He worked from Michigan to Arizona, California to South Carolina and spent a lot of time in Montana and Utah. He was always accompanied by his faithful dog, Danielle. After health issues he retired in 2014. He assisted with taking care of his dad, Leon, until his death. Roy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, growing his own garden and canning. The last few years he also became interested in motorcycles. He would often ride with the Indian Club Motorcyclist. Roy's favorite holiday was the 4th of July. Each year you could find him fixing a meal fit for a king for his family and friends. Then they would spend their afternoon on the lake boating and end the evening with fireworks that would rival Copan fireworks. Roy is survived by two sisters: Billie and husband David Shepherd of Bartlesville, Donna and husband Roger Burman of Bartlesville. Two nephews; Kevin Lynch and wife Cala of Copan, Troy Shepherd and fiancé Krista Howell of Bartlesville. Two nieces; Tanya Schmidtlein and fiancé Cameron Cates, Lisa and husband Adam Smith of Wentzville, MO. He is also survived by eight great-nieces and nephews: Braydon, Dalton and Bristyn Schmidtlein, Easton, Clay and Gavin Lynch, Jax and Phoenix Smith, Kyleigh Shepherd and many friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Odessa Quattlebaum and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Humble Road Church with Pastor Jeff Wickham officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

I got to know Roy from riding motorcycles together. He was always joking about everything. He sure loved his Indian! Now he can ride the Golden streets of Heaven. He will be missed by all who knew him.
