Wesley Raymond Shrum Jr., 63, passed away in his hometown of Bartlesville on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
Wesley was born the son of Wesley Shrum, Sr. and Sendie Lee (Elkins) Margaryan on July 20, 1954, in Bartlesville, OK. Wesley was raised in NE Oklahoma his entire life, being brought up in Bartlesville, Ponca City and Nowata. He loved stock car racing, motorcycles, and adored going fishing with his grandpa and grandma.
Wesley enjoyed working and he spent over 20 years with OTR Trucking driving his truck from coast to coast. He finally retired due to his health, but even after retirement he didn’t like to be still. He loved running, visiting with all of his friends, and attending motorcycle rallies, such as Sturgis. Wesley would trade anything, but was particularly fond of horse trading. Everyone who knew Wesley knew he was fiercely independent, but had a caring heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Wesley is survived by his mother Sendie Margaryan of Bartlesville; six brothers Jackie Shrum and Sheila, Ronnie Shrum, Donnie Shrum, Johnny Shrum, Daniel Elkins and Rachel, Leroy McManigle and Tammy; four sisters, Diane Smith and Donnie, Ellen Henry, Brenda Bryant, Tammy Chidester; four children, Mathew Shrum, Janice Van Dyck, Melissa Jo Shrum, Kathy Lynn Shrum; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Keith Orvil Shrum and one sister Marion Rana Havel.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Walker Brown Funeral Home Chapel (4201 Nowata Rd., Bartlesville) 918-333-7665, with Pastor David Mosher officiating.
